Adventure: For Spring Break, Sugar and I car-boated over to Orcas Island for the week. We took a gamble on early spring weather and totally hit the jackpot with clear skies and warm days all week. We employed our M-F strategy to ensure we had Moran State Park Campground to ourselves. Our trip was pretty relaxing, we geocached a bit around the island, climbed Mt. Constitution (our forefathers signed the US Constitution on the top of this mountain), and made a daily stop at ::Island Hoppin’ Brewery::.
On our way back to Seattle, we stopped at the Tulip Fields in Mt. Vernon and hit the jackpot digging through free records boxes in front of a record store in town.
School: We’re in the second week of spring term now, I’m teaching Business Calculus and Precalculus I. Things are going well so far. Also, I got offered a full time job at Shoreline Community College starting next fall. So that is really awesome.
Music is going pretty well, but the gigs with the Workshop have been drying up. It seems like the Musicquarium doesn’t want to commit to having us each month. Too bad. We played all of Joe Henderson’s In N’ Out last week. Maybe some videos to come.
Beer: We just cracked open our third creation at the house, an Amber Rye. This is the best one yet. I think Aaron is going to take the lead for the next one and do a Banana Hef. I’ve never done a Hef before, we’ll see how it goes, it will be a nice summer beer.
